Digital Humanities prepares graduates for a broad range of careers. Students are given opportunities for flexible learning and project-based study, developing transferable skills that are invaluable for critically engaging with our contemporary world. Studying Digital Humanities at the ANU provides students with the opportunity to engage with cutting-edge technologies and tools and to acquire crucial digital literacy skills.
CDHR ANU offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses of study.
Undergraduate study
Students at undergraduate level can undertake a major or minor in Digital Humanities, which includes courses taught from the CDHR, as well as courses from across the ANU, ranging from Computer Science to Design, History, Anthropology and others.
Postgraduate Study
The Master of Digital Humanities and Public Culture enables students to develop high level skills in digital literacy and applied humanities. A flexible structure allows students to learn emerging digital research methods, advanced critical thinking and data analysis. Students gain an understanding of how academic research is applied in broader society and are supported to develop communication skills across traditional and digital platforms aimed at both the academic and public spheres. Students will collaborate with researchers from across the ANU, and have the opportunity to engage with national cultural institutions, the public and government sector, and international organisations in Canberra.

Higher Degree Research in Digital Humanities
The CDHR welcomes students wishing to pursue higher degree by research at MPhil or PhD level. ANU is one of the few universities to offer a PhD or MPhil in Digital Humanities.
Students can pursue their studies as part of the Interdisciplinary Cross-Cultural Research (ICCR) program within the Research School of Humanities and the Arts, which offers HDR students a unique interdisciplinary programme in which to pursue thesis research and coursework as well as professional development.
